Build the Nations
Newsletter - Q1 2009

With all of our hearts, we at Build the Nations are working to establish God's kingdom through evangelism, discipling children with Christian education, partnering with other organizations, and bringing relief to poverty-stricken people in Southern Africa.
We hope you enjoy reading about our latest activities.

Orphans in a Mozambican village enjoying a nutritious and delicious meal given to them by BTN's mission team

Blessing children

Christmas Mozambique Mission

"When you give a feast, invite the poor..." Luke 14:13.
This past Christmas BTN sent a team to give gifts and hold a Christmas party for some orphans and poor children in a village in Mozambique.

Welcome to Africa - the Mozambican road was a quagmire
The local church there feeds some orphans a basic meal twice a week - the rest of the time they fend for themselves, often going without food.
BTN brought basic food supplies for the church to continue their feeding programme. They also provided meat and a nutritious protein drink which the children thoroughly enjoyed. Each child in the village received a wrapped Christmas present. We shared with them through an interpreter about God's gift to them.
Most of the children had never received a gift before and didn't know what to do with it, but after we explained they could unwrap it they soon got the idea, and the village was filled with happy children playing with balls, bubbles, colouring books, toy cars and other novelties!

Repairing a broken, rusty wheelbarrow
The team also helped with some maintenance around the village and repaired windows, a wheelbarrow, a car, a motorbike, a bicycle, a maize grinding mill, and a bed, which was a huge blessing.
We also gave away food parcels to poor families.
Staffroom
Playground
School Campus

The playground has been transformed and is all ready for the new school year. And at last, after sixteen years, the teachers have a staffroom!

Teacher Training

It is largely the teachers of a school that determine what level of character and academics the students will attain; therefore teachers must be role models of excellence and professionalism, committed to the success of their students.
In December we trained 33 teachers from Christian schools around Limpopo Province. It was a successful week and we trust that God ministered to each trainee.

Soccer outreach to local children
Fruit for our Labour

A group of our school students attended a student convention in December. They competed in several events and each of them came away with at least one medal.
The most exciting thing was to see the students' Godly character. What we are doing in the school is really working! We are building the children's lives, instilling quality Christian character for the Lord.

Brad Palmer says:-

"Let 2009 be a year of great significance and influence for you all. Do not be afraid, and don't accept the world's doom and gloom predictions. Enjoy the new things that the Lord has for you all this year. Keep your eyes on Jesus, continue serving the Lord faithfully, and let's 'Build the Nations' for our Saviour. Our labour is not in vain, and it will produce much fruit."

Thank you for being a part of the team!
